Job Description

 Yuma Regional Medical Center is a 406-bed facility located in sunny, southwestern Arizona. We have a main hospital campus, off-site cancer center, outpatient laboratory services, and numerous clinics as a part of our medical group, including a primary care facility in the Foothills - 41 locations in total.


The Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) is responsible for strategic and operational nursing and allied health professional leadership in the development, deployment, re-engineering, optimization, integration, and maintenance of clinical information systems to support clinicians and patient care across all care settings within YRMC. The CNIO will collaborate with the YRMC senior leadership team to steer utilization of clinical information systems consistent with the goals and objectives of YRMC clinical and strategic initiatives. The incumbent will collaborate with the Department of Quality and Patient Safety, Clinical Education and the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure the practice of evidence- based and safe care that is compliant with regulatory requirements. The CNIO leads nursing in the design and execution of technology-enabled process change that maximizes patient safety, quality of care and operational efficiency. This individual assists with the identification, evaluation, and assessment of new care delivery technology, developing recommendations on the impact of integration with existing workflows and systems. The CNIO will also oversee nursing and allied health professional champions and super users as they participate in the ongoing optimization and maintenance of EPIC and all related clinical information systems. The incumbent will collaborate with the Director for Clinical Education to support clinical information systems training across YRMC.


Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and 5+ years related experience least with at least 3 years in implementation, redesign or process work that includes clinical system redesign, and at least 3 years of experience as nurse leader for multiple clinical projects, large multi-faceted projects and/or nursing leadership. 

Extensive experience with the Epic system required.

Work Schedule: 8-hours, Days, Monday through Friday
