Clinical Pastoral Education Resident
Our CPE residents are vital to the success of the Yuma Regional Medical Center Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy Services departments. Our residents receive paid time off, a stipend, multiple start date options (spring and fall), and get to work amongst a well-respected and nationally recognized team. Please note this is not a Staff Chaplain position - this is a residency.
Provide/arrange provision of pastoral care to premature, neo-natal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, their families and staff on a regular and emergency basis. Participate fully in the Clinical Pastoral Education Program. The Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Resident will be expected to function professionally in an egalitarian environment in all situations to include: crisis intervention, the scene of a death, in a group/therapeutic context. The Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Resident will be expected to commit to the YRMC Clinical Pastoral Education Program for a minimum of one year.
Master's Degree or equivalent from a university or theological seminary or in the process of completing one.
Master of Divinity Degree from an accredited theological seminary.
Computer proficiency (must be able to pass YRMC's computer proficiency assessment)
Exposure to a clinical environment by completion of one unit of Level 1 Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an accredited Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) program. Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems.
