| Position Summary: |
The Director of Perioperative Services oversees the daily operations of the surgery department, including preoperative services, intraoperative services, post operative services, sterile processing and endoscopy. Responsible for the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies, staffing and training of employees, and budgeting. Direct reports include Peri-anesthesia Nurse Manager and Intra-operative Nurse Manager, indirect reports include Business Manager, Scheduling Supervisor. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the care of patients and surgical workflow, as well as develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Reports to the Administrative Director.
The incumbent is primarily accountable for the planning, implementation and operation of the department in order to meet the needs of the organization. Accountable for human resource management, financial management, and quality management for departments and programs within incumbent’s responsibility in support of the mission, vision, values and strategic objectives of YRMC. This position reports to the Administrative Director for Perioperative Services.

Surgical procedures performed at YRMC include traditional surgery, minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures, and laser surgery using the latest available equipment and technology. Surgical procedures performed at YRMC include: General Surgery, Bariatric (Weight Loss), Dental, Eye, Heart, Orthopedic, Pediatric, Podiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Plastic/Reconstructive, Thoracic, Urology, Vascular and Open Heart. YRMC's surgical facilities include ten operating suites in the main operating room, two of which are dedicated to open hearts, four operating suites in the women's section, and four operating suites in the Outpatient Surgery Department. They also include three Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACUs), often called recovery rooms, where patients are cared for immediately after surgery. One PACU serves the main operating room, one is located in the outpatient surgery department and other is located in Women's Surgical Services. Are you searching for your Season in the Sun? | Education Required: |
Bachelor's Degree. Arizona or Compact State RN license.
Basic life support for healthcare providers and advanced life support certification(s) as appropriate & required for assigned department.
AORN Certification. Master's Degree.
| Experience Required: |
5 years clinical management. Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment)
Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems.
