Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $119,544.954
Mid = $149,431.193
Max = $179,317.431

Summary:
The Medical Dosimetrist acts as a key member of a radiation-oncology team, which treats patients with tumors and other cancerous tissues; performs advanced mathematical calculations to determine the optimal radiation dosage, and the most effective external-beam geometry for administering the dose; creates two or three possible treatment plans for patients, works with radiation oncologists to select the best procedure; detects the size, composition, and location of tumors; measures the proper doses of radiation, which are generally provided daily for several weeks.

Responsibilities:
Performs routine duties independent of supervision, but consults with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required.

Operates and performs quality assurance, under the direction of the Medical Physicist, on the treatment planning computer.

Adheres to radiation safety procedures and current rules and regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Interprets and executes treatment plans as defined in relevant treatment protocols.

Utilize mathematical skills including algebra, trigonometry, and introductory calculus and be able to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts to facilitate the treatment planning process

Possesses a deep understanding of radiation oncology and medical physics, drawing from biology, math, and physics to form integrated solutions.

Minimum Requirement:

  • BACHELOR'S DEGREE
  • CERTIFIED MEDICAL DOSIMETRIST (CMD)
  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
