Nurse Extern (NE) - Inpatient Stroke - Full Time Nights - TOWER 3

Yuma Regional Medical Center is a 406-bed facility located in sunny, southwestern Arizona. We have a main hospital campus, off-site cancer center, outpatient laboratory services, and numerous clinics as a part of our medical group, including a primary care facility in the Foothills. 

Position Summary:  Tower-3 is composed of 36 private rooms and is considered a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit with specialty knowledge in the areas surrounding Oncology and Renal. The Registered Nurse on Tower-3 embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice and applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty and patient population served. Exhibits interpersonal skills that portray professionalism and maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Functions in a skills mix environment and directly supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff. Tower-3 provides our nurses with a wide range of opportunities such blood and blood product transfusions, chemotherapy, care of the oncology patient, care of the peritoneal and hemodialysis patient, wound care, telemetry monitoring, as well as overall care of the medical/surgical patient.  The Nurse Extern serves as a direct patient care team member in Adult Acute Care services and provides care in alignment with organizational standards (e.g. Policies and Procedures), as well as the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization, under the guidance of the licensed RN Preceptor. Required: Graduate within the last year from an accredited School of Nursing;

BLS

Education: Associate’s Degree, Nursing

Work Schedule: 12-hours, Nights, Varied
