| This position is responsible for reviewing all patient records to gather demographic and insurance information and ensures that the patient is aware of the hospital's financial policies and procedures. Provides explanation of hospital's payment policy, which may include Charity Care eligibility. Will project a professional image, to include appearance, confidence, knowledge, and organization of work. Communicates using active listening, thinking/analysis, appropriate response, and anger diffusion skills. | |

| Education Required: High School or equivalent Arizona Department of Public Safety (IVP or Non-IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required for assigned area/location. Ambulatory Division Requirement: Basic life support for healthcare providers and advanced life support certification(s) as appropriate & required for assigned department. Education Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish, Certified Application Counselor (CAC) | |
| 3 years of previous health care registration and/or patient billing related experience. Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment) Experience Preferred: 5 years healthcare registration experience, health insurance and third party payor requirements. Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems. | |
