This position is responsible for reviewing all patient records to gather demographic and insurance information and ensures that the patient is aware of the hospital's financial policies and procedures. Provides explanation of hospital's payment policy, which may include Charity Care eligibility. Will project a professional image, to include appearance, confidence, knowledge, and organization of work. Communicates using active listening, thinking/analysis, appropriate response, and anger diffusion skills. | |

High School or equivalent. Education Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish, Certified Application Counselor (CAC). | |
1 year of previous health care registration and/or patient billing related experience. Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment). Experience Preferred: 3 years healthcare registration experience; Knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance and third party payor requirements. Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems. | |
