|The Patient Care Assistant is responsible for providing selected patient care activities working under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). Recognizes changes in patient condition and reports to appropriate person as evidenced by documentation. Applies appropriate techniques in transferring, ambulating and positioning of patients as evidenced by observation. Assists in the admission, discharge and transfer of patients as evidenced by documentation. Responds to patient requests and call lights in a timely manner as evidenced by customer feedback and observation. Must have excellent customer service skills and works well within a team environment. Phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG (where applicable).|

Surgical procedures performed at YRMC include: General Surgery, Bariatric (Weight Loss), Dental, Eye, Heart, Orthopedic, Pediatric, Podiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Plastic/Reconstructive, Thoracic, Urology, Vascular and Open Heart. YRMC's surgical facilities include ten operating suites in the main operating room, two of which are dedicated to open hearts, four operating suites in the women's section, and four operating suites in the Outpatient Surgery Department. They also include three Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACUs), often called recovery rooms, where patients are cared for immediately after surgery. One PACU serves the main operating room, one is located in the outpatient surgery department and other is located in Women's Surgical Services. Are you searching for your Season in the Sun? | Education Required: |
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licensed by Arizona State Board of Nursing as a Licensed Nursing Assistant.
Phlebotomy certification or completion of post-secondary phlebotomy course within 30 days of hire.
Basic life support for healthcare providers.
Education Preferred: Phlebotomy certification or completion of post-secondary phlebotomy course.

Must be 18 years of age. Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment)
Experience Preferred: Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems.
