Job Description


The Payroll Specialist assists the Payroll Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate pay cycle processing, and reconciles several deduction accounts in payroll to general ledger. Maintains and processes garnishments and various deductions requiring manual intervention from the initial contact with the employee notification through setting up in the system, and provides accurate and timely information through various reports to different agencies including state and federal. Manages direct deposit rejects and contacts employees to correct payment issue and ensures payment posting, maintains confidentiality of employee information and other confidential information, and assists with other payroll duties as assigned.


Assists timely and accurate processing of pay cycle from initial system interfaces through payment processing. Manages and processes special request such as verification of employment, W-2 reprints, audit requests, and court ordered requests; provide research and resolution to questions and issues relating to pay including providing direction on setting up direct deposit and tax information. Manages and processes deductions and earnings adjustments that require manual intervention such as terminations, extra shifts for physicians and hospitalist, shift differentials, and bonuses. Manage and reconcile employee deductions to external entities, such as donations to the Foundation, annuities, and garnishments. Processes, analyzes and distributes various reports such as new hire, social security, direct deposit and deductions .

High School Graduate/ GED
