Registered Nurse (RN) II - Emergency Room (PRN)
Yuma Regional Medical Center is a 406-bed facility located in sunny, southwestern Arizona. We have a main hospital campus, off-site cancer center, outpatient laboratory services, and numerous clinics as a part of our medical group, including a primary care facility in the Foothills - 41 locations in total.
The competent RN has mastered basic technical and organizational nursing skills within an inpatient setting. He or she is skilled in evaluating patient responses and uses past experiences in providing care. Patients and families are viewed holistically, there is a focus on outcomes, and care is delivered using a systematic approach. The competent RN is able to make decisions guided by limited experience, as well as policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. He or she consults with other members of the healthcare team when necessary. At the competent level, the RN can comfortably care for patients in his or her clinical area.
At YRMC our ED delivers all services 24/7, treating an average of 200-220 patients per day. This includes our internal observation unit staffed with designated RN’s and Nurse Practitioners. Our 72-bed emergency department is equipped with four trauma bays with built in x-ray and telemedicine capabilities, a dedicated pediatric zone with Emergency Medicine Pediatric Physicians, a dedicated ED pharmacist, two state of the art helipads, and a dedicated radiology suite with two x-ray rooms a 64 slice CT scanner and ultrasound room. Our ED team is invested in not only meeting, but also exceeding national benchmarks such as door to alteplase times < 45 minutes and door to PCI times < 90 minutes. As the only Trauma Center for 180 miles, we stabilize all acuity of injured patients and strive for rapid transfer when services are not locally available. Education Required: Arizona or compact state RN License; BCLS; Advanced Life Support Certification(s) as appropriate &required for assigned department.
Experience Required: Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment)
Experience Preferred: Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems.
