Summary:

The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for writing and researching various organizational communications. The Specialist ensures that YRMC’s overall mission and key messages are communicated effectively, accurately and consistently, both internally and externally. This individual develops social media strategy, including creative content and execution, that increases brand awareness and engagement, and grows our supporter base - with the goal of converting fans to advocates and uses digital analytics and data to shift tactics for optimal engagement and results. This Corporate Communications Specialist coordinates all employee communications through the development and execution of strategic communication plans, serves as public relations representative through media relations and social media content development to positively position YRMC in public perception.

Responsibilities:

Creates and disseminates YRMC team member communications; creates and implements brand aligned communication plans to educate, inform, and inspire on various communications platforms including weekly newsletters, social media groups, quarterly publications, organization wide briefings, digital communications; uses accepted journalistic standards and strong editing skills. Serves as lead media relations coordinator for YRMC; establishes and maintains positive relationships with media on local and state level; proactively identifies YRMC media opportunities, aligned with goals of the organization and to positively impact perception; researches and prepares press releases and/or media pitches; creates monthly media report. Manages media relations and helps positively position YRMC in public perception on both a local and state level. Develops social media strategy, including creative content and execution, that increases brand awareness and engagement, and grows our supporter base - with the goal of converting fans to advocates. Uses digital analytics and data to shift tactics for optimal engagement and results. Partners with executive leadership, physicians and patient to write special communications on various communication platforms including Annual Reports, briefings and patient stories; effectively writes message to appropriate audiences and demographics. Coordinates and takes professional photos to compliment writing content; edits photos for publications, digital communications and media. Edits and proofs content for community relations/leadership; uses accepted journalist standards to provide strong editing and proofreading for materials used in advertising, marketing, communications, patient education, web site, and others as identified. Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • Two (2) or more years of related experience
