Summary:

The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation logistics and patient coordination. This pivotal role involves managing transportation schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer service to patients requiring non-emergency medical transportation. The NEMT Coordinator serves as the central point of contact for patients, drivers, and internal stakeholders, facilitating seamless transportation experiences while prioritizing safety, reliability, and patient satisfaction.


Responsibilities:

  1. Program Management: Coordinate transportation logistics by scheduling pick-up and drop-off times, optimizing routing, and vehicle assignment, while maintaining precise records of transportation requests, trip details, and patient information in adherence to regulatory standards. Continuously monitor real-time transportation operations, promptly addressing any disruptions or deviations from the schedule.
  2. Route Optimization: Utilize geographical knowledge and transportation software to optimize routes, minimizing travel time and maximizing efficiency while adhering to patient preferences and safety considerations.
  3. Safety & Confidentiality: Create and execute procedures aimed at safeguarding patient confidentiality, ensuring data security, and enhancing safety measures throughout transportation processes.
  4. Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, their families, and YRMC staff. Provides assistance with scheduling, trip planning, and addressing inquiries or concerns, while also cultivating positive relationships by demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and respect for diverse needs and backgrounds.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services to ensure strict adherence to applicable laws and standards.
  6. Operational & Performance Management: Utilize data analysis techniques to collect and evaluate transportation data alongside patient feedback, identifying trends, addressing recurring issues, and implementing corrective actions to optimize operations and enhance overall service quality.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess the NEMT coordination workflow to pinpoint opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and service enhancements.

Credentials:
Essential:
* BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
* YRMC FLEET SAFETY CLEARANCE (FLEET)

Education:
Essential:
* ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE

Other information:

1. Bilingual preferred 

2. Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

3. BLS Certified

4. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

5. Previous experience in transportation coordination, logistics management, or customer service roles, preferably in a healthcare or NEMT setting.

6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with clients, vendors, and team members.

7. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to service excellence.
