The Nursing Program Coordinator directs the activities and development of the program. The Coordinator acts as a resource to professional staff by providing broad oversight and assists other leaders to establish, oversee, conduct, and evaluate quality improvement for the program. The Coordinator aligns program goals to meet accreditation/certification standards across the continuum of care with focus on high quality patient outcomes and will function as a member of the multidisciplinary team including: medical staff, leadership, quality, and nursing to make sure all patients have a successful journey through Yuma Regional Medical Center’s Program. This individual is responsible for indirect and direct patient care.
Nursing Program Coordinator
Develops and maintains comprehensive and effective clinical program which meets regulatory standards and exemplifies Patient/Family Centered care. Serves as a liaison to coordinating care throughout the hospital and oversees/ coordinates community outreach programs. Interacts with unit staff, patients, physicians, families, visitors, management, ancillary departments, case management, and the general public. Responsible for creating and utilizing Clinical Pathways to assist patient through the system and achieving/ maintaining Center of Excellence Status.
Provides input in the development of a budget for cost center (s) and the creative allocation of resources within budget limits (including personnel, services, space, supplies, and equipment) to accomplish the objectives of the organization to assure quality outcomes; Assists in the evaluation of equipment, and makes recommendations for supplies and capital purchases. Works in collaboration with staff and other members of the healthcare team to evaluate/trial equipment and new technologies. Monitors financial and productivity data, measures outcome and provides feedback as necessary. Collaborates with Cardiac Rehabilitation Leadership team to take appropriate actions.
Maintains accreditation standards of care. Assists in the development and monitoring of department identified key indicators in the performance improvement process. Participates in the preparation and ongoing review of policies and procedures, standards, protocols and guidelines.
Fosters an environment that empowers employees to implement innovative solutions, processes, and practices while adhering to clinical and regulatory requirements. Maintains and demonstrates expertise in performing basic and advanced nursing skills consistent with standards of care and hospital procedures.
