Under the direction of the Employee Health and Wellbeing Manager, the Wellness Specialist will have a unique opportunity to promote and grow Yuma Regional Medical Center’s (YRMC) internal Wellbeing program, various community programs as well as develop YRMC’s ergonomics program. The goal of YRMC’s Wellbeing program is to enhance the health and wellbeing of our employees. This position requires a highly energetic individuals who has the ability to develop annual plans, facilitate programs, educate and evaluate job function.
Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy (Certified) or Bachelor’s degree Exercise Science or similar
Master’s Public Health, Exercise Science or related field
Experience coordinating worksite wellbeing programs and/or developing educational ergonomic programs with one year related experience.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Strong public speaking skills
Demonstrated ability to develop wellbeing strategies, policies and design specific interventions.
Workers Compensation experience
Conducting Ergonomics Analysis
Primary Job Accountabilities:
- Develop Ergonomics program for YRMC which would include: ergonomics evaluations, training classes, equipment needs and collateral materials
·Act as liaison for the Safe Patient team with internal stakeholders
·Regular availability to provide coaching and fostering a safe patient handling and non-patient area environments
·Develops and facilitates health/wellness programs for internal and community wellness programs.
·Provides 1:1 health coaching including areas such as stress, eating, physical activity
·Assisting Employee Health during high volume times with non-clinical tasks
Work Schedule: 12-hours, Days, Monday through Friday
